What the Visit and Report Cover
Our gas service sheet lists every part we touch: the glass and its gasket, log placement against the manual, burner ports, pilot flame and thermocouple or thermopile, and the vent termination outside. We take a carbon monoxide reading with the unit running and record the number. If anything points to a fault, the sheet says so and the unit stays off until it is repaired.
What Goes on the Gas Service Sheet
Gas fireplaces are cleaner than wood but not maintenance-free, and the problems they develop are easy to miss. The service sheet we leave lists each part we touched and what we saw. Glass: the white film on the inside, which comes from combustion and builds up every season, cleaned with a product made for fireplace glass. Gasket: whether the glass seal is intact. Logs: whether they are cracked and placed where the manual shows, since misplaced logs cause soot. Burner ports: whether any are clogged with dust or debris. Pilot: whether the flame is steady and wraps the thermocouple or thermopile. Vent termination: whether the cap outside is clear of nests, leaves and plants.
We also take a carbon monoxide reading in the room with the fireplace running and write the number on the sheet. A gas fireplace that is working right should not raise it. If it does, the sheet says so, the unit stays off, and the next step is a repair visit, not a cleaning. Many Woodland Hills homes have direct-vent units installed during remodels, with the vent running out a side wall, and a vent cap behind a shrub is a common finding.
Cleaning Once a Year Versus Fixing a Problem
Once a year, before the cool months, is the right rhythm for most gas units. The glass film builds up slowly, spiders like pilot assemblies in summer, and the vent cap collects whatever the wind brings. If your fireplace is already acting up, such as a pilot that goes out, flames that turn yellow and lazy, soot on the glass, or a smell when it runs, say so when you book. That is a repair call, and it needs a different set of tools and parts on the truck.
A note on gas logs in a wood-burning fireplace: they vent up the existing chimney, so the chimney still needs looking at. The damper must be clamped open, and the flue must be clear. The service sheet for those sets includes the flue opening and damper clamp, and if the chimney has not been inspected in a while, it recommends a Level 1 inspection at $53 as the next step.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning on Our City Routes
Each city page adds the local house types and weather that show up in our reports there.
CA
Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Burbank
Many Burbank houses still have the fireplace they were built with, and a report on one of them is often the first anyone has written. We start with the basics, liner type, damper condition and cap, and write each finding so a first-time owner can follow it without a glossary.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks reports split cleanly in two. Houses on the flats tend to show masonry wear and older dampers, while the hillside homes often have factory-built fireplaces behind stone faces, and the report has to name the make and model before any repair can be priced.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Studio City
A lot of our Studio City work arrives with a home sale attached, so the Level 2 report has to be clear enough for a buyer, a seller and two agents to read on a phone. Older homes on the flats often carry chimneys patched after 1994, and the camera shows whether those patches still hold.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Encino
Encino homes often have more than one fireplace on separate flues, so a single report covers several systems. We number each fireplace and flue at the top of the report and keep its photos and ratings together, which makes it easy to approve work on one without mixing it up with another.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Woodland Hills
Our Woodland Hills reports keep returning to the same three findings: clay tile liners with joints opened by the 1994 Northridge earthquake, crowns cracked on the hillside homes that face the sun, and rusted cap mesh. Each one gets a photo, a location and a plain rating, so you can see where your house sits against that pattern.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning in Canoga Park
Canoga Park houses are mostly single-story, which lets us reach the chimney from the roof on nearly every visit and photograph the crown and cap directly. Reports here often find original dampers rusted in place and clay tile liners that have never been camera-checked.

Chimney Sweep
Brushed, vacuumed and photographed before and after, so the condition sheet shows what came out of your flue and what is left.

Scope stated on page one, then every finding photographed and rated, so anyone reading the report later knows what was checked.
Learn More →Chimney Repair

Learn More →Fireplace Inspection
Masonry or factory-built is named first, then firebox, damper, smoke chamber, hearth and mantel clearance are measured and photographed.
Learn More →Fireplace Repair
Repairs priced from the photos in your report, with listed parts for factory-built units and refractory mortar for masonry fireboxes.
Learn More →Chimney Level 2 Inspection
Video of the full flue run, stills tagged by height, and a one-page summary an agent can open on a phone.
Learn More →Chimney Cap Installation
Measured to the flue tile, fitted with spark arrestor mesh, then photographed from the roof so the fit and fasteners are on record.
Learn More →Chimney Flashing Repair
Traced from the attic and the roof first, so the report names the real source of the leak before any flashing is pulled.
Learn More →Chimney Masonry Repair
Mortar loss gauged on each face of the stack, earthquake cracks mapped apart from weather wear, and a written repointing plan.
Learn More →Chimney Rebuilds
Recommended only when photos show failed masonry, then scoped in a separate assessment with lean measurements and a sketch.
Learn More →Fireplace Cleaning
Ash, glass film and doors cleaned, plus photos of the freshly cleaned firebox walls and damper, when cracks are easiest to see.
Learn More →Gas Fireplace Repair
Meter readings for the thermocouple, thermopile, valve and switch go on the sheet, so the failed part is shown before it is replaced.
Learn More →Fireplace Remodel
Inspection comes first, so the remodel scope lists clearances, repairs hidden behind the old face, and the new materials line by line.
Learn More →Fireplace Inserts
Firebox measured front and back, flue inspected for a liner, then an insert chosen that fits both, with install photos kept on file.
Learn More →Pellet Stove Repair
Translated error codes, tested motors and switches, a cleaned vent, and a service sheet naming the failed part.
Learn More →Wood Stove Repair
Paper-tested door seal, firebrick, baffle, glass and stovepipe photographed, and clearances to walls measured against the label.

Firebox and flue checked first, then a vented set sized to the box and the room, with the clamp and valve photographed at install.
