Tell us the Sherman Oaks street and the symptom. A Bishop scheduler calls to set the time.
A chimney masonry repair report is only as good as the photos behind it. In Sherman Oaks, CA, where the houses run to single-story ranch homes on the flats, hillside contemporaries south of ventura boulevard, and condo buildings with sealed gas units, Bishop Chimney Care photographs each item before it is rated.

Heat on the valley floor dries out mortar and sealant through the summer, then the first winter rain shows where they have opened. We photograph roofline joints closely here, because that is where the water usually gets in.

The names below share the Sherman Oaks schedule. Steep roofs or locked gates? Note them when you book so the inspector plans access.
Single-story ranch homes on the flats, hillside contemporaries south of Ventura Boulevard, and condo buildings with sealed gas units each put the wear in different places. The report follows your house, not a template, so the first page shows what matters most for it.
Sherman Oaks reports split cleanly in two. Houses on the flats tend to show masonry wear and older dampers, while the hillside homes often have factory-built fireplaces behind stone faces, and the report has to name the make and model before any repair can be priced. Each rating in the report points back to a numbered photo, so you can check our reasoning yourself.
Repairs are priced on lines that match the finding numbers, where the photos allow. Homes near Beverly Glen, Valley Village, and Encino get the same format, and you can approve one line at a time.
If the report points somewhere else, these are the follow-ups we price for this city.

the eastern end of the Valley against the Verdugo foothills
Many Burbank houses still have the fireplace they were built with, and a report on one of them is often the first anyone has written. We start with the basics, liner type, damper condition and cap, and write each finding so a first-time owner can follow it without a glossary.

A lot of our Studio City work arrives with a home sale attached, so the Level 2 report has to be clear enough for a buyer, a seller and two agents to read on a phone. Older homes on the flats often carry chimneys patched after 1994, and the camera shows whether those patches still hold.

Encino homes often have more than one fireplace on separate flues, so a single report covers several systems. We number each fireplace and flue at the top of the report and keep its photos and ratings together, which makes it easy to approve work on one without mixing it up with another.

Our Woodland Hills reports keep returning to the same three findings: clay tile liners with joints opened by the 1994 Northridge earthquake, crowns cracked on the hillside homes that face the sun, and rusted cap mesh. Each one gets a photo, a location and a plain rating, so you can see where your house sits against that pattern.

Canoga Park houses are mostly single-story, which lets us reach the chimney from the roof on nearly every visit and photograph the crown and cap directly. Reports here often find original dampers rusted in place and clay tile liners that have never been camera-checked.
Open this cityEach item we touch gets a photo and one of three ratings: safe to use, watch it, or fix before the next fire. For chimney masonry repair, that list starts with joint depth gauged and recorded per face, seismic cracks mapped apart from weather wear, mortar type chosen to suit the brick.
